Do you qualify to use UFile for free?
In an effort to make UFile accessible to more Canadians, we provide
a large number of taxpayers with the opportunity to file their
tax returns with UFile.ca, our online software, absolutely FREE
of charge. Please read below to see if you or a family member
can qualify.
Are you a low-income taxpayer?
Do you have dependants – children,
grandchildren, parents..?
Are you 60 years of age or over?
Are you currently enrolled in a post-secondary
program of studies ?

Are
you a low-income taxpayer?
If your total family income is $20,000 or less*,
you will not be charged any fee to print or NETFILE your
return(s) with UFile.* Anyone may try UFile at no charge.
Should your income exceed this limitation, you will be asked
to pay to print the return or submit it via NETFILE only
when you are completely satisfied.
*This is based on the total amount from
line 150 of the federal return of each member of your family.

Do you have dependants

Unlike our competitors' products, you can file your dependants'
tax returns absolutely free of charge with UFile.
Who is a dependant? Dependants
are members of the taxpayer's family unit, usually children,
parents or other relatives, who have the same mailing address
and who are being supported by the designated family head
and/or their spouse. Click

Are
you 60 years of age or over?
Have you heard about Free File Friday? If you are a taxpayer
aged 60 and over, you too can prepare your tax return for
free! To qualify for Free File Friday and prepare your tax
return online at no charge, you or your spouse must be 60
years of age or over.
Simply log on to UFile.ca and start a new file (or open
your pre-exisiting file if you already used UFile last year)
on Free File Friday, February 26th, 2010.
Enter this code 543P292 in the
Special Offers page found in your UFile program, located
near the bottom of the QuikClik Navigator.
File your return whenever you are ready. Remember, you
do not need to file your return on Free File Friday.

of studies last year, you may use UFile.ca for FREE to prepare
your tax return online, regardless of your income. Thanks
to an exclusive agreement between UFile and the Canadian
