To help us provide you with secure access to your tax information online, we use several layers of robust security mechanisms, technologies and processes.

Secure log in

For your protection, we require that you "log in" to the secure area of our Web site using your username and password. Your password should be kept secret at all times because it is used to help verify your identity before you are permitted access to your tax information. If you are unable to provide the correct password, you will not be granted access.

When you log in successfully, your Web browser will establish a secure SSL connection between your computer and our Web servers. This will allow you to communicate with us privately and to conduct online transactions safely.

Secure tax preparation

UFile applies 128-bit encryption throughout your entire session on its site. This ensures that computer hackers and other Internet users will not be able to view and/or alter your data while preparing your tax return online.

Encryption is currently the most effective way to securely transmit data over the Internet. Web browsers use encryption to enable safe online communications and transactions between you the user, and the Web sites with which you interact. The stronger the level of encryption your Web browser uses, the more difficult it is for unauthorized individuals to intercept your online communications. The most common level of encryption used by Web browsers today is 128-bit, the same high encryption standard used for online banking and trading. 128-bit encryption is a requirement for preparing your taxes on our site.

Timed logout

To further protect against unauthorized access to your accounts, our systems are designed to automatically terminate a secure online session if extended inactivity is detected. If your session ends in such a manner, you will have to log in again in order to resume your activities.

Securing your tax information

Your data is stored on our secure servers behind multiple layers of security such as firewalls, strong passwords, and encryption protocols. Your data is encrypted, not readable, and can only be decrypted with your password.

Our systems are housed in a state-of-the-art data centre, which is monitored round the clock.
